ELIZABETH
TAYLOR AS CLEOPATRA
ENHANCED
LIFE LIFE MASK CAST FROM THE FACE OF THE LEGENDARY HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY
ELIZABETH
TAYLOR (1932- ) was a star before she hit
her teens and had remained at the top ever since. Her first film was Lassie
Come Home (1943) then National
Velvet (1944). In 1963 she made the spectacular
CLEOPATRA
for which this mask was made. The story goes that Liz would not sit still
for makeup and hair tests so the make up men took a cast of her face to
try various effects.
This cast has now been enhanced by Sculptor Erick
Erickson to represent Elizabeth Taylor in
her most regal role as Cleopatra. The eyes have been sculpted open and
the hair and headpiece have been added for a very impressive display. This
piece looks like the head from a sarcophagus.
EACH
MASK IS SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY THE ARTIST.
The mask is cast in Ultra Cal casting cement, the hardest USG product available.
This mask is finished in Egyptian Gold with her eyes done in black .It
then is rubbed with an antiquing overlay to bring out the detail. Finaly
it is sealed to preserve it. The mask comes with the hardware for hanging.
This is a 1 to 1 full scale cast and measures 12 inches by 10 inches
