RATHBONE AS SHERLOCK HOLMES
MASK CAST FROM THE FACE OF THE GREAT ACTOR THEN STYLED TO CAPTURE HIS ROLE
AS SHERLOCK HOLMES
BASIL RATHBONE (1892- 1967 ) Film fans will
always think of Rathbone as the eccentric Sherlock
Holmes, a role he played 16 times. What a
profile he had and there is no better way to appreciate it than this mask
. In other films he almost always played a villain, including the evil
Guy where he engaged Errol
Flynn in the most exciting sword duel ever
put on film.
This mask is enhanced
by artist Erick Erickson
to create a very impressive display. The cast from RATHBONE'S face has
sculpturally added ears, hair and eyebrows. Even the trademark deer stalker
hat and ascot have been faithfully recreated.
EACH SCULPTURE IS SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY THE ARTIST.
The finnished piece is cast in USG's Tuf-Cal gypsum cement, it is fiber
filled and has polymer additves to assure it will last forever.
This mask is finished in Silver Screen Silver, then rubbed with an Antiquing
overlay to bring out the detail. It is then sealed to preserve it. Each
mask comes with hanging instructions and the screw.
