PETER LORRE
(1904-1964) Unlike other heavies, he was a little man, but his shifty-eyed,
understated acting style and striking vocal delivery( a whiny whisper with
a middle European accent) more than made up for his size. Lorre is one
of a kind .
One of my favorite
roles was on the Hitchcock
TV series as a mad man opposite Steve McQueen.
He would chop off McQueen's finger if his lighter fails during a Bar Bet.
This mask is enhanced to create a very impressive display. The cast from
Lorre's face has sculpturally added ears, hair and eyebrows.
The mask is cast in Tuf-Cal a fiber filled Gypsum cement with polymer additives.
This mask is finished in Silver Screen Silver, then rubbed with an Antiquing
overlay to bring out the detail. This is a full scale 1 to 1 cast. It is
then sealed to preserve it. The mask is ready for hanging and includes
the hardware to do it.
