ALFRED
HITCHCOCK LIFE MASK
CAST
FROM THE FACE OF THE MASTER OF SUSPENSE IN 1972
ALFRED
HITCHCOCK (1899-1980) THIS WAS CAST FOR THE
TRAILER OF FRENZY,
RELEASED IN 1972 . IN IT HITCHCOCK'S DUMMY WAS FLOATING ROTUNDLY
IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY . THIS HEAD WAS CAST FOR THAT EFFECT. OTHER
PUBLICITY PHOTOS WERE MADE WHERE HITCHCOCK IS SEEN HOLDING
HIS HEAD AS MASTER OF THE MACABRE.
This mask is special
in that it has been restored to show more of Hitchcock's face. It
is deeper and shows his thinning hair on the top and sides. This shows
the whole great profile and makes for a wonderful display. Never
has someone appeared so different and promoted their likeness with such
phenomenal success. This is nice .
The sculpture is cast in Tuf-Cal a fiber filled Gypsum cement with Polymer
additives.
This mask is finished in Oscar Gold rubbed with an antiquing overlay to
bring out the detail, then sealed to preserve it. It also comes with hardware
for hanging.
